Here are the steps to cut porcelain tile:
1. Mark the porcelain tile where you want to cut it.
2. Adjust and lock the guide of the tile cutter.
3. Place the cutter on the edge of the tile, where you have marked it.
4. Push down on the tile cutter and slide it across the marked tile.
5. Press it down when reached to the end.
For any type of tile, an angle grinder is best for round cuts whereas a glass cutter can make smaller cuts. And if you have a lot of tile to trim, a wet saw is one of the easiest, quickest options.
