To scan using an HP printer, there are several methods depending on the operating system and the printer model. In Windows, you can search for and open HP Scan, select Save as Editable Text (OCR), and click Scan. In Windows 7, you can click Start, select All Programs, click HP, click the folder for the printer, and then select the printer name. In the HP Printer Assistant, select Scan, and then select Scan a Document or Photo. Depending on the printer or scanner, you can load pages in the automatic document feeder (ADF), or place a page or photo in the scanner glass according to the guides of the HP model for scanning. Then, you can use the HP Smart app, the Windows Fax and Scan software, or the Windows Devices and Printers software. You can also enable Scan to Computer in the HP Printer Assistant.
